Pop Tarts: Miley Cyrus' Dad Says Underwear Model a 'Great Guy'

Great Guy? Are you nut? There aren't too many people in the world with the power to close down Disneyland for their 16th birthday. In fact, teen sensation Miley Cyrus was the first to do so on Sunday as she performed for (and partied with) 5,000 fans to celebrate her coming of age.

"It’s our family going full circle. Being here with these fans is an appropriate way to celebrate," her proud father and "Hannah Montana" co-star Billy Ray Cyrus told Pop Tarts. "It’s the fans that our show is all about. It’s what our music is all about. Touching people’s lives worldwide and these are the people right here."

Notably absent from the party was 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston, to whom Miley has been romantically linked in recent weeks despite claims from her camp that they are "just friends."

"He is a great guy, a really talented guy," Billy Ray said of Gaston, adding that he is great company for his daughter.

It's obviously been a tumultuous year for the star-studded family, given Cyrus' string of scandalous snaps, but Billy assured us that they deal with the drama of fame "one day at a time, one step at a time."

"Most importantly [we] just love what we’re doing, we love making music and we love acting and being part of this Disney family, so it’s a dream come true for us," he said.

As for all those rumors that Miley is getting ready to leave her alter ego "Hannah Montana" behind...

"We’re rocking and rolling," Billy Ray said, with Miley confirming that she has no intentions to depart Disney "no matter what."

"I respect the people that are here grooving on — I'm so excited because the most amazing people in the world are here celebrating with me tonight," Miley gushed.

Also stepping out to wish Miley a Happy Sweet 16 were "Idol" runner-up David Archuleta, "High School Musical" stars KayCee Stroh and Ryne Sanborn, Cindy Crawford, Steve Carell, Jennie Garth and Vanessa Williams. Even Tyra Banks partied with the young pop princess, offering words of support.

"The interesting thing is this is a world that loves to bring you up and they love to tear you down, but Miley is a strong, strong girl and that’s part of being a celebrity," Banks said. "You take the bitter with the sweet but she always manages to keep it sweet and that’s what I love about her."

Renee Zellweger’s Skinny-Dipping Scene Was 'Authentic'

Renee Zellweger had the, er, tedious task of skinny-dipping with guys for her new flick “Appaloosa” — but the actress actually found the experience “very authentic."

“A very raw and quiet experience is what it was. It was pretty intense and the environment was gorgeous and challenging, and because these guys worked so hard the experience was very authentic,” Zellweger said of the scandalous scene in the period piece.

“It wasn’t very hard to imagine being this woman and living at that time and these guys are fun sometimes to hang out with, especially when they’re all riding around on horses in chaps.”

Too Many Ladies Causes Lachey Problems

Nick Lachey still only has eyes for his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, but that still didn't stop lots of ladies from giving the pop prince a hard time on Sunday evening.

Pop Tarts spies spotted the star-studded couple along with Nick's brother Drew Lachey and his wife plus a group of their friends enjoying drinks in the cabana area of W Hotel's Whiskey Bar in Los Angeles.

Although we're told hotel management was eventually forced to shut down public access to the cabana room as too many women were falling over themselves in an attempt to snap pics of (and get close to) the former 98 Degrees frontman.

Gavin Rossdale Uncomfortable With the Newborn

Gavin Rossdale and wife Gwen Stefani are no strangers to the spotlight and paparazzi attention — although it seems that they have a surprising support system.

“The weird thing that happens is when you get swarmed by the paparazzi trying to take pictures you see members of the general public get really protective and very deeply pissed off about it and want to protect you, strangers,” Rossdale told Tarts.

But despite his fame, Rossdale refuses to let the paps interfere with raising a family.

"I take my son (Kingston) to the park and public places and I know I'll be photographed but if I didn't what kind of son would I be bringing up? So sheltered," he said. "I try to do everything that would help him be balanced and cool."

The music moguls recently welcomed their second son, Zuma, into the world, and Rossdale admitted that he isn't all that "hands-on" with the newborn and is better with things like "swimming or throwing a ball."

"I can do all the diaper changing and stuff if I really have to," he said nervously. "But there are people like Gwen who are just more comfortable and better at that."

And at just 2 years old, their eldest, Kingston, is already showing signs of following in his father's and mother's footsteps.

"Right now he is fanatical about singing 'Happy Birthday' — Gwen taught him to sing it for his (second) birthday," Gavin said. "But now every time he sees a candle anywhere he has to start singing and blow it out. He also plays the drum and dances — he has great rhythm."

Selena's Crush on Shia LaBeouf

If you thought Miley Cyrus was pretty mature for her young age, meet fellow Disney dame Selena Gomez. At just sweet 16, the "Wizards of Waverly Place" starlet is taking fame and fortune in her stride — and wouldn't mind an older man, either.

"I've had a crush on him (Shia LaBeouf) ever since he was on 'Even Stevens,'" she told the upcoming issue of TV Guide. "It's very far-fetched, but I would love to have Shia on 'Wizards.'"

But when it comes to her real love life, Gomez seemed to offer new evidence that she has something going on with Jonas Brothers rocker Nick Jonas.

"I've gotten really close to the entire Jonas family this past year. Nick and I are getting to know each other," she said. "But we're not confirming anything."
